Tutor

Let's get to know each other!

My name is Katarina Đorđević

I am a violinist from Belgrade, Serbia.

In 2013 I graduated with a Master of Arts from the Royal Academy of Music in London where I specialised in historical performance and baroque violin playing.

Prior to that, I studied violin at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Music where I was the youngest student of my class and I graduated with a Master of Music in 2010.

I also play baroque viola and viola d'amore and would be happy to teach those as well.

I have been teaching violin since 2010 and have experience with both children and adults who may be complete beginners or more advanced students.

If you would like a free trial lesson, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the contact form on this website. It would be nice if you could write a bit about yourself, any playing experience you might have and/or repertoire you would like to explore.

Testimonials

My daughter Sofia (a little over two years old) and I (having midlife crisis and being pregnant with a second baby) are New Yorkers, who absolutely needed to learn violin since we left our piano behind in NYC when the whole family temporary moved to London. Our individual lessons with Katarina have been a source of immense pleasure, fun and satisfaction. I admire Katarina's teaching expertise and I appreciate her patience with myself and my daughter (yes, a two year old can actually learn how to hold the violin and the applicable vocabulary … with Katarina). Katarina was able to open my eyes to the details of theory and violin playing. She is a wonderfully detailed teacher, and provided my daughter and myself with the confidence and encouragement in pursuing the mother-daughter hobby. Thank you for all this wonderful time, Katarina!” - Margo & Sofia NYC/London
I'm an adult beginner, and have so far had five lessons with Katarina who has embraced the unenviable challenge of tutoring me from scratch. I cannot recommend Katarina highly enough, for her lessons are fun, flexible and productive. She has a fine sense of humour - which is good since I want the technical discipline but also want to enjoy my new hobby. I appreciate that much is down to personal practice, but my time with Katarina is improving my technique, expanding my musical literacy and keeping me motivated.” - Daniel
Katarina is an enthusiastic teacher and she has helped me a lot in learning how to play violin. She has motivated me to do better and I think I am better at violin since I have her as a teacher.” - Leon, aged 11
Katarina is a very helpful teacher. She is always close by to make sure you are doing everything correctly. She creates a mixture between slow and fast songs, so they do not get too boring.” - Leah, aged 9
